First off, we want to extend a big thank you to my brother-in-law, David Damron, for setting up this site for Max. He is super talented when it comes to this kind of stuff and we really appreciate it. We thought that max-clements.com would be a great way to share updates, pictures, etc. for those interested without clogging up social media with a million “Max Updates” each day. So here it goes…our first attempt at a blog post.
Where to begin…
These first 6 weeks have been so very precious. We’ve spent a ton of time staying in and having family snuggle sessions but we’ve also made it a point to get out of the house as well. Max has been a trooper with no serious melt-downs (knock on wood!!) as we hit up spots like Target, Pizzeria Lola and Pairings.
It is such a bittersweet feeling watching how fast Max grows. On one hand, it has been unbelievable to experience things like learning his cue’s, seeing the transition from him looking our direction to actually seeing us, watching his personality develop, and seeing his first adorable smile. On the other hand, the days and weeks have gone by so quickly and as he continues to grow and learn, I know that things like afternoon naps on my chest, the soft little noises he makes, and nighttime feedings (okay this one isn’t quite as sad…) are fleeting. Now that I’m officially crying just thinking about these things, I’ll move on and share some pictures.
We were so excited to receive the disk from Max’s newborn photography session, which took place on New Years Day. We CANNOT believe how big he has gotten over the past six weeks. He is a week old and just over 7 pounds in these pictures. Fast forward to today, he is now 11 pounds 4 ounces!!! Obviously Max has been a great eater, which is why his Dad has dubbed his new nickname to be “Hogmuffin” (I mean look at those cheeks!).
